About the Role
To help us provide crucial functionality for our clients to manage their Foreign Exchange accounts, we require an enthusiastic and talented Web Application Developer who has already gained 2 or 3 years’ experience developing Customer facing websites in ASP.NET MVC and related technologies.

Hours Per Week 08:30 to 17:00 +/- 1hr flexi-time (7.5 hrs/d, 37.5 hrs/w) however, it is expected that you may need to perform some tasks out-of-hours in order to avoid disruption to clients and staff during normal business hours.
Job Status Permanent
Reporting to You will work as part of a small team and, at times, independently under the supervision of the Head of IT, but may also take instruction from various Heads of Department, including the Head of Operations.

Essential Key Skills 
·         C#, ASP.NET MVC, Linq, Reactive ·         WebAPI, JSON, REST, Swagger
·         JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, LESS ·         Website Deployment (Octopus)
·         Familiarity with EF6, Linq to SQL, AutoMapper ·         Familiarity with SQL Server Development
·         SOLID, IoC, DI (Ninject or Unity) ·         TDD with NUnit or similar testing Framework
·         Spoken & Written English to CEF level C1 or above ·         Agile/Scrum with TFS and GIT
 Desirable Skills 
·         Xamarin/Mono ·         SpecFlow, BDD
·         Data Visualisation Libraries (for Charts, Tables) ·         Control Libraries (i.e. Infragistics or DevExpress)
·         PHP /WordPress ·         Graphic Design Packages (Photoshop/GIMP etc)
 Key Responsibilities  Performance management 
Web Application Development
  • To provide technological solutions to the company’s needs to meet business, management and regulatory requirements.
  • To develop new features of bespoke client-facing and in-house software systems according to the written requirements specifications and in line with SOLID software development principles.
  • To provide feedback and status updates on the development progress of each requirement.
  • To maintain good version control of the software development assets.
  • To maintain proper software development documentation.
  • To develop thorough test plans and test routines using good principles of TDD or BDD.
  • To aid in the development of software user guides written/online.
Issue Investigation, Evaluation and Resolution/Escalation
  •  To investigate and resolve issues with the software reported by users.
  • To maintain a list of bugs and the status of each bug’s resolution.
Database Development
  • Design and Create Table Schemas, Indexes, Relationships and Constraints.
  • Design and Create Views and Stored Procedures.
  • Tune database queries for performance.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Create quality business/client output documents in MS Word, PDF or other formats.
  • Create functions/macros/pivot tables/queries within Excel and related tools.
  • Modify data directly in SQL Server.
  • Create Reports/Charts in Visual Studio, Excel or SSRS.
Learning and Development

 

 

  • You will be required to acquire and maintain new skills that contribute towards your understanding of evolving technology applicable to the work environment.
  • You will be required to maintain your knowledge and understanding of Financial and Data Protection Laws and Regulations.
WordPress Website Development
  • Design and develop simple pages on our WordPress Website using PHP/JavaScript and any other related skills.
