Global financial markets are expected to remain quiet until the new year now. Many participants will be away from their desks across this period and, if they are not, will be staying clear of placing any large trades. As a result, no significant movement is expected across the next week or so of trade, unless there are any shock developments which catch markets off guard.
There are a couple of pieces of data worth noting today. US durable goods orders for November as well as new home sales. From Canada, a month-on-month GDP print will also be eyed.
This will be the last Cornhill Morning Note until the new year. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas and prosperous 2020!
