Fresh Data in Focus

As February closes out and March commences, traders and dealers will pay attention to the raft of fresh data which will begin to be released over the coming days. The reports in question will represent February activity and will provide insight into how businesses and consumers are coping with persistently high inflation and elevated interest rates.

Today’s numbers will cover the manufacturing sector and will be released from the eurozone, the UK, and the US.

Across the currency markets, the greenback picked up a solid number of buyers late in Wednesday’s session. The gains both the euro and pound had notched up in morning trade were given back and both pairs ended up closing lower on the day. As March gets underway, the question for investors is still whether the recent US dollar rally has further room to run. It was only 4 months ago the GBPUSD pair was verging on breaking parity!
